Legend has it that in 1969 the United Nations came up with an ID system utilizing one, two and three letter country codes. These country codes were printed on oval decals and attached to vehicles in order to indicate their country of origin.
	And so the loyal people of THE HUSKER NATION needed their own 3-letter code that not only identified their citizenship, but also symbolized their passion for THE BIG RED. When it came to deciding which three letters best captured their great nation...the choice was easy.
